Morocco in Spring

When we were last here (in October) we were writing about the unseasonal storms and rains causing much damage across the country. It seems things did not improve much and Moroccans are describing last winter as one of the wettest on record.

Fortunately we managed to time our return with the arrival of spring so our vista was one of lush greens and blooming spring flowers as we drove north through Western Sahara and across the snow-capped Atlas mountains.

It does feel strange, however, to think that by this time tomorrow we'll be back in 'doom & gloom' Europe where everybody's depressed about their economic future having spent the last few months amongst people whose financial struggles continue on a day to day basis. We look forward to our journey through Europe catching up with friends along the way and will hopefully bring the spring all the way across the English Channel with us in two weeks time!

Hello my lovelies. Great to see more beautiful photos, and we can't wait to see you at some point when you have time!! Luca celebrated his 5th birthday today and had a great time. He asked his friends to donate money to a friend's son who has severe cerebral palsy instead of giving him presents and he raised £145 so he's so chuffed!! Take care. Jane, G & Luca xxx

Hello you two! Green Turtle seems ages ago. We're insanely jealous that you've had the whole trip back as well. Morocco in the spring! I miss it all so much. England is, er, cold, grey and wet. We just got our car back so had the treat of unpacking all our tagines and mortars & pestles etc. The recipe development has begun in earnest and now I have all the weird spices too. Can't wait to catch up with you when you're back. Anna & Matt x

Hello lovelies. Have come to your wonderful journey a bit latish (guess some old habits die hard). It's a real treat to retrospectively enjoy some of your adventures (and remember a magical time shared in Wassou a decade ago), and to learn through these pages that Charlotte has a new bump and that Mr Chris has crossed your paths. Rest assured that in spite of forecasts of much doom and gloom a very warm and festive welcome awaits you.

Look forward to seeing you soon,
Lotsa love, Mr Pete xxx
